About Event
The horizons of heat and mass transfer research are ever expanding, encompassing several topics of scientific and technological relevance. The complexities and intricacies of the associated physical phenomena in many of these topics demand rigorous studies. With ever increasing emphasis on advanced technologies concerning thermal processes and systems as well as those involving species transport, the pursuit of heat and mass transfer studies continue to remain very exciting and challenging. In modern day practice, additional emphasis is laid to integrate energy, environment and health care issues with thermofluidic systems. The 22nd National and 11th ISHMT-ASME Heat and Mass Transfer Conference is scheduled to be held during December 28-31, 2013 at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, Kharagpur. The conference aims at bringing together a number of leading experts from all over the world on to a common platform to discuss and share their vision on research in the frontier areas of heat and mass transfer. This conference provides a unique opportunity for exchanging innovative ideas and application experiences amongst researchers working in academia, research and development organizations and industries as well as to present and publish their research findings and to interact with experts. The conference will include plenary and keynote presentations in addition to contributed oral and poster presentations.Events
The conference topics include ( but are not limited to ) : Atmospheric flows Biological heat and mass transfer Combustion and reactive flows Cryogenics Electronic and photonic cooling Energy science and engineering Environmental science and engineering Experimental techniques Fundamental topics Heat transfer enhancement Heat transfer equipment Mass transfer Materials processing and manufacturing Microscale and nanoscale transport Multiphase transport and phase change Nuclear heat transfer Radiative heat transfer Refrigeration and air conditioning Transport phenomena in porous media Turbulent transportWho Can Attend:
MechanicalHow to reach IIT Kharagpur
The conference will be held at IIT Kharagpur, Kharagpur, India. Kharagpur is a remarkable place in India, known best for the longest railway platform in the world. IIT Kharagpur is located a mere five kilometers from the railway station. Reaching this railway station takes approximately two hours of railway travel from Howrah railway station (the prime railway station of the city of Kolkata), with a distance covered of approximately 120 km. Kharagpur can also be reached by car from Kolkata airport with a road travel time of approximately two and a half hours. The approach road connecting Kolkata airport to Kharagpur is mostly the part of a national highway (NH-6). During December, the climate of Kharagpur is supposed to be the most pleasant one with average temperature in the tune of 15
